SUN: As a general guideline, heather plants should get four to six hours of sunlight daily. So it is best to plant it in a place with enough sunlight throughout the year. The more sunshine this plant receives, the brighter are its leaves and flowers. Not enough sun will cause the plant to look leggy and dull.
When the seedlings are 1 to 2 inches high they can be transplanted into small individual pots. Lift the seedling by the leaves and place it gently in a hole that has been pressed into the small individual pot, then gently firm the soil around it. Avoid touching the stem at any stage because it is quite fragile still and can break easily. Water the pot.
Subsequent to the initial watering, you don't need to water the plant again until the soil is dry and is already inches deep. You can simply use your fingers in testing this.
