Fill the hole to a level equal to the depth of the bag in which the tree came in, ensuring that it is well compacted, subsequent subsidence should be avoided. Remove the tree from the bag, loosen the root system. Often the root system will be found to have circulated when reaching the plastic container, the roots may have built a memory and continue to grow in that pattern. This is to be avoided, so loosen the roots on the edges and bottom, damaging a few will have no effect on the future growth. This type of damage can encourage the tree to develop hair roots at the damaged areas, and this is actually helpful. Wake the tree's roots to the fact that they are in new soil for them to grow.

Corina Marisol plant, November 23rd , 2017. The cheapest window boxes are the ones made from plastic. They are light, rot-proof and seem like a good option. However, they break easily and the plastic becomes brittle after the long exposure to sunlight. If you decide to go with plastic window planters, keep in mind that they can distort and be difficult to handle when you fill them with soil. On the other hand, both plastic and fiberglass window boxes retain moisture levels better than wooden planters and often come with their own drip trays.

Just the colder winter months are soon upon us doesn't mean we can't continue to grow vibrant, healthy plants indoors. One method I plan on trying out this winter season is aeroponics. Surprisingly, an aeroponics system doesn't need a large amount of space nor potting soil to see luscious results.

There is a significant energy loss when light is reflected off of different surfaces. The plants that do well in these areas are uniquely suited for this amount of energy and will remain healthy with no drying or burning. There is usually plenty of light and heat for keeping the soil warm and promoting photosynthesis.
